TRR379 instrument item coding specifications

The specifications are currently incomplete, see "survey" below

This respository contains the specification for individual questionaire items for all* instruments used for the Q01 cohort acquisition.

The coding for each instrument is located in a dedicated file under instruments/.

Survey

The file instrument_survey.tsv collects information on instruments used at particular TRR379 sites. It defines an authoritative mapping to homogenized (TRR379-wide) identifiers for all instruments, and information about them.

This files has the following columns:

  • site-label: a short label that is used at the particular site to refer to the instrument
  • site: the site where an instrument is used. Adult (E) and children (K) are distinguished (e.g. FRA-K, AAC-E, ...)
  • same-as: this column can be used to declare that an instrument used at a particular site is exactly identical to one used at another site. Use site and site-label to identify this identical instrument (e.g., FRA-K:ARI). If this column is filled, all following columns can be left out
  • id: the homogenized, TRR379-wide identifier for this instrument (version)
  • title: the full title of this instrument
  • identifying-info: any free-text information that helps to precisely identify an instrument. Ideally this is one of (in order of preference): an ISBN of the official questionnaire, a DOI of an associated publication on the instrument, a URL to an online resource on the instrument, an author name. In case online a part of the full instrument is used, or it has been modified from the official version (translation, implementation of a paper/pencil test in an electronic system, etc), some version identifier/information needs to be provided in addition.
